N2  - This article examines the grammatical, semantic, and communicative features of personal pronouns in English. Personal pronouns are regarded as important grammatical units that express the categories of person, number, gender, and case relations. The study focuses on the functions of such pronouns as I, you, he, she, it, we, they, their use as subjects and objects, their context-dependent meanings, and their role in maintaining textual cohesion. Special attention is paid to the pronoun you, which can refer to both singular and plural addressees, the use of it in impersonal constructions, and the use of they both as a plural pronoun and, in some contexts, as a singular form. The article also highlights the functional importance of personal pronouns in spoken and written communication and their significance for learners of English grammar.
