Special attention is also paid to the emotional-expressive, evaluative, cultural-identificational, and pragmatic functions of idioms in literary texts, oral speech, journalistic style, and everyday communication. Through a comparative analysis, the article identifies both common and distinctive features of English and Uzbek idioms. The findings emphasize the importance of understanding and using idioms appropriately in translation studies, language teaching, and intercultural communication.
