abstract: This article examines the role of the three-stage model of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) — pre-task, task, and post-task — in developing students’ linguistic competence in higher education. The study focuses on the practical implementation of these stages among students majoring in finance and economics. It highlights the pedagogical functions of each stage, their contribution to communicative performance, and their impact on the development of linguistic competence. The findings indicate that the TBLT framework significantly enhances students’ speaking activity, promotes real-life communication skills, and improves the effective use of language in professional contexts.
