Particular attention is given to constructivist and instrumentalist perspectives, within which the nation is interpreted as an “imagined community.” The study examines the role of socio-economic, political, and cultural factors in the formation of national identity. Drawing on the works of P. Berger, T. Luckmann, F. Barth, E. Gellner, and B. Anderson, the article explores modern theoretical approaches to understanding the phenomenon of the nation. It also substantiates the relationship between nation formation and processes of industrialization and modernization, emphasizing the subjective and constructed nature of ethnic identity.
