In the context of the rapidly expanding modern information space, where various platforms such as social media, podcasts, and online radio stations are developing, the core principles of journalism — objectivity, accuracy, reliability, transparency, and responsibility — have not lost their relevance; rather, their importance has increased. Radio occupies a special place due to its purely audio nature, direct communication with the audience, and immediacy. The article divides the topic selection process into several stages: identifying audience interests, assessing relevance, considering ethical boundaries, and evaluating available resources. Journalistic skill is reflected at each of these stages. Due to the absence of visual elements in radio, particular emphasis is placed on vocabulary richness, intonation, respect for the audience, and reliance on accurate facts. The study concludes that the ability to select appropriate topics is one of the key indicators of a journalist’s level of professionalism.2026-01-01Article
