"When describing the Samarkand Bekdom of the Bukhara Emirate in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it is important to note that during the reign of Amir Haydar, a representative of the Manghit dynasty, Samarkand regained its former prestige and influence. Owing to socio-economic reforms, the Samarkand Bekdom became one of the major central cities of the Bukhara Emirate. Significant changes occurred in several sectors of the city’s economic life.
