%X This article compares the prefixal formation of geographical terms in English and Uzbek. During the study, the semantic and formal features of terms formed using the English prefixes sub-, trans-, semi- and others, and the Uzbek prefixes be-, ser-, no- and a number of others, were analyzed. The similarities and differences of the terminological systems in the two languages ​​are further clarified through examples.
