Drawing on theRules of Russian Orthography and Punctuationedited by V. V. Lopatin, normative orthographic dictionaries and reference books by D. E. Rozental, as well as university‑level manuals on morphemics and orthography, the paper analyses the structural characteristics of compound words, the use of interfix vowelsoande, and the distribution of solid and hyphenated spelling of compound nouns and adjectives, including cases of variation and non‑standard spellings in modern texts. Special attention is paid to the role of academic codification and dictionary fixation in resolving controversial orthographic cases.
