Working with Russian-English contrastive pairs taken from the studies of I.A.Sternin and the Voronezh school, the paper describes linear and vector correspondences, lexical lacunae and nationally specific semes. The resources of the Russian National Corpus, OpenSubtitles, ParaCrawl, the British National Corpus and the Corpus of Contemporary American English are involved. 4 zones of a dictionary entry are proposed (semic, translation, corpus-illustrative and contrastive-commentary).
