PublishScience PreprintsTHE CULTURAL AND VALUE COMPONENT IN TEACHING CHINESE TO STUDENTS OF UZBEKISTANКим ЗунТю ТхиauthorThe article examines the role of the cultural and value component in teaching Chinese to students of Uzbekistan. Drawing on many years of experience in teaching Chinese abroad, the author substantiates the need for an organic combination of language instruction, familiarization with traditional Chinese culture, and the development of students’ ability to present the culture of their own country through the target language. The study demonstrates that cultural content should not replace language practice or be reduced to a separate lecture component; rather, it is most effective when integrated with vocabulary, grammar, texts, dialogues, project assignments, and communicative situations. Special attention is paid to comparing Chinese and Uzbek cultures as a means of developing intercultural competence, broadening students’ horizons, and strengthening their national-cultural identity.
