The complex dialectical relationship between globalization processes and the environment is explored, along with the transboundary nature of ecological problems and the mechanisms behind global ecological crises such as climate change, declining biodiversity, and degradation of ocean and freshwater resources. The effectiveness of the international system of environmental agreements, global environmental governance institutions, and financial mechanisms are assessed. Contemporary trends analyzed include the green economy paradigm, the nature-based solutions concept, the principle of environmental justice, and the impact of digital technologies on ecological monitoring systems. Uzbekistan's integration into regional ecological problems and the global environmental governance system is examined separately.
