The study explores the theoretical and methodological relationship between conversion, word formation, homonymy, and syntactic transposition. Particular attention is paid to the manifestations of conversion in the Uzbek language, including the processes of substantivization, adjectivization, and adverbialization. The findings demonstrate that the agglutinative typology of the Uzbek language determines specific patterns of conversion that differ from those found in Indo-European languages. The article also discusses the common and distinctive features of conversion and transposition and seeks to clarify the terminological boundaries between these concepts.
