PublishScience PreprintsON THE SEMANTICS OF INTENSIFICATION AND ITS METALANGUAGE IN LINGUISTICSAzamjonIxtiyorovauthorThis article examines the semantic nature of intensification and its role within the linguisticsystem. Intensification is interpreted as a phenomenon directly related to the strengthening or deviationfrom the normative degree of actions, states, and qualities of objects and events in reality. The study arguesthat intensification represents a quantitative modification of quality and carries significant pragmatic andcommunicative value for both speakers and listeners. Furthermore, the article addresses the issue ofdeveloping a metalanguage for the description of intensification and the classification of linguistic unitsexpressing intensification semantics. In particular, the use of such terms as phonointenseme,morphointenseme, lexointenseme, syntactointenseme, phraseointenseme, sentenceintenseme, andtextointenseme is proposed and theoretically justified. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding ofthe mechanisms of intensification across different levels of language and provide a framework forimproving its linguistic description.2026-01-01Article
