The empirical-anthropological concepts of Abu Rayhan Biruni, representatives of the “Golden Age” of Islamic civilization, and the philosophical-pedagogical concepts of Abu Ali ibn Sina are synthesized with the modern economic theories of the division of labor and human capital of Ibn Khaldun, Adam Smith, Theodor Schultz, and Gary Becker. The article scientifically substantiates the necessity of developing students' economic competencies in the context of today's global digital transformation and sustainable development.
