TI  - LEXICAL-SEMANTIC AND LINGUOCULTURAL FEATURES OF ORNITHONYMS USED IN THE EPIC QUNDUZ BILAN YULDUZ
N2  - This article examines the lexical-semantic and linguocultural features of ornithonyms used in the "Qunduz bilan Yulduz" epic performed by Ergash Jumanbulbul o?g?li. The study identifies bird names occurring in the text and analyzes their lexical-semantic classification, denotative and connotative meanings, functional-stylistic roles, and contribution to the creation of artistic imagery. Particular attention is paid to the linguocultural significance of ornithonyms in relation to the Uzbek people's worldview, hunting traditions, aesthetic values, and mythopoetic perceptions. The analysis demonstrates that ornithonyms such as shunqor, lochin, qirg?iy, tuyg?un, bulbul, turna, g?oz, tovus, and so?na function not only as lexical units denoting birds but also as important poetic devices expressing courage, agility, beauty, love, separation, and emotional experiences of the characters. The research employs descriptive, lexical-semantic, componential, contextual, and linguocultural methods of analysis.
