abstract: The article analyses structural and grammatical features of blessing units in Uzbek. By predicate form they divide into synthetic, analytic and nominal types; the link between grammatical form and pragmatic function is established, and the polarisation of the affix -gur is examined. The findings inform lexicography and translation.
