It examines the artistic and conceptual manifestations of such binary oppositions as good and evil, honesty and dishonesty, diligence and laziness, generosity and greed, courage and cowardice, justice and injustice, as well as loyalty and betrayal. The analysis demonstrates that positive values are represented through the characters’ personal qualities, behaviour, speech, successful completion of trials and eventual reward. Conversely, the punishment of negative characters reinforces culturally accepted moral norms and collective perceptions of an ideal individual. The comparative findings indicate that Uzbek fairy tales predominantly emphasize collectivism, respect for elders, patience, diligence and devotion to family, whereas English fairy tales more actively foreground personal initiative, courage, resourcefulness, justice and independence. Despite these national and cultural differences, the fairy tales of both traditions share the common educational purpose of promoting goodness, honesty and moral responsibility.
