The research material consists of the names of supermarkets, catering establishments, hotels, tourist agencies, training centers, medical institutions, communication, transport and logistics, printing houses and agro-service facilities in the city of Namangan, Pop, Chust, Chortoq, Kosonsoy, Mingbulok, Namangan, Norin, Turakurgan, Uychi, Uchkurgan and Yangikurgan districts. A selected corpus of 72 ergonymic units was formed based on open business directories and official lists. Ergonyms were divided into names based on the motive of naming, directly expressing the type of activity, toponymic and historical-cultural, anthroponymic, positive assessment and meaning of desire, metaphorical-symbolic, assimilation, hybrid and abbreviation. The analysis showed the active use of English and international components in the ergonyms of the city of Namangan, and the predominance of Uzbek units, area names and lexemes with positive meaning, directly expressing the activity in the agro-service facilities of the districts.2026-01-01Article
