abstract: The article analyzes Ray Bradbury’s short story “The Veltd” from the perspective of decline of family values under conditions of technological progress. Through artistic symbols such as the “smart house”, the veltd, and the lions the author reveals the impact of technological dependency on children’s psyche and parent-child relationships.
