It examines the role of the Qur’an and Sunnah inthe development of Islamic education, the early educational practices established duringthe lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the major stages in thedevelopment of hadith scholarship, and the emergence of hadith schools in Mawarannahr.Particular attention is given to the scholarly legacy of Imam al-Bukhari, Imam al-Tirmidhi,and other prominent scholars, with emphasis on its contribution to the spiritual and moralformation of younger generations. The study also traces the development of traditionalschools and madrasas, the educational reforms associated with the Jadid movement, therestrictions imposed on religious education during the Soviet period, and the revival ofhadith scholarship in independent Uzbekistan. The article further highlights thepedagogical relevance of the ethical teachings contained in hadith literature forcontemporary education, particularly their integration with national and universal humanvalues and their potential incorporation into the curriculum of the “Education” subject.2026-08-14Article
