The study focuses on the compositional compactness of short epic genres, psychological representation, moral choice, and the conflict between the social environment and individual freedom. In Yoqubov’s Muqaddas, Qanot juft bo‘ladi, and Billur qandillar, the characters’ inner experiences related to conscience, responsibility, love, and social duty are closely intertwined with the realities of national life. In Henry James’s Daisy Miller, The Aspern Papers, and The Turn of the Screw, psychological states are revealed through limited perspective, narrative ambiguity, and multiple interpretations.
