European views that deny khitaba the status of a literary genre, as well as hypotheses concerning the influence of Greco-Roman rhetoric or Hellenistic culture on Arabic khitaba, are critically analyzed. The study argues that khitaba developed not under foreign cultural influence but as a product of indigenous Arabic literary and artistic thought. date: 2026-01-01 type: Article type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: https://arxiv.publishscience.uz/2093/1/fulltext.pdf identifier: Djurayeva, Feruza (2026) FROM ARABIC ORATORY TO THE GENRE OF KHUTBA: THE FORMATION OF EARLY MEDIEVAL ARABIC PROSE.
