European views that deny khitaba the status of a literary genre, as well as hypotheses concerning the influence of Greco-Roman rhetoric or Hellenistic culture on Arabic khitaba, are critically analyzed. The study argues that khitaba developed not under foreign cultural influence but as a product of indigenous Arabic literary and artistic thought.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2093"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2093_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
