European views that deny khitaba the status of a literary genre, as well as hypotheses concerning the influence of Greco-Roman rhetoric or Hellenistic culture on Arabic khitaba, are critically analyzed. The study argues that khitaba developed not under foreign cultural influence but as a product of indigenous Arabic literary and artistic thought. date: 2026-01-01 date_type: published id_number: OJS:2286 full_text_status: public publication: Scientific and innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere volume: 3 number: 8 pagerange: 233-236 refereed: 1 issn: 3060-5059 citation: Djurayeva, Feruza (2026) FROM ARABIC ORATORY TO THE GENRE OF KHUTBA: THE FORMATION OF EARLY MEDIEVAL ARABIC PROSE.
