<dc:title>SYN STYLISTIC FEATURES AND FUNCTIONAL POTENTIAL OF OCCASIONAL COLLOCATIONS IN ENGLISH LITERARY TEXTS</dc:title>
        <dc:creator>Hamdamov, Haydar</dc:creator>
<dc:description>The article analyzes the stylistic features and functional potential of occasional collocations in English literary texts. Occasional collocations are regarded as unconventional word combinations created by an author within a specific context. Their formation through metaphor, metonymy, epithet, and oxymoron is illustrated with original examples. The article analyzes such collocations as glass-cold morning, paper-thin courage, honeyed cruelty, clock-heavy silence, and velvet-dark fear, highlighting their role in creating imagery, semantic density, and emotional impact. The findings demonstrate that occasional collocations perform emotive-expressive, periphrastic, amplificative, and contrastive functions. Such units play an important role in expressing an author’s individual style, activating readers’ perception, and enhancing the aesthetic impact of literary texts.</dc:description>
