The main objective of the study is to systematize the approaches developed within media linguistics, identify the distinguishing features of conventional text and media text, and describe the internal layers of media text. Based on definitional, comparative, and component analyses, the linguistic, semiotic, institutional, technological, and cultural layers of media text are distinguished. The analysis demonstrates that media text is not limited to a verbal message but constitutes a complex communicative unit emerging through the interaction of editorial selection, platform affordances, multimodal expression, and engagement with a mass audience.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2129"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2129_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
