The study examines the establishment of the newspapers Taraqqiy, Xurshid, Shuhrat, Osiyo, Samarqand, Sadoi Turkiston, and Sadoi Farg‘ona, their aims and objectives, main areas of activity, and the reasons for their closure. It also explores the ideological contradictions between the official colonial press and the national press. The author argues that national newspapers played an important role in the educational awakening of the people of Turkestan and in the development of national self-awareness.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2135"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2135_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
