It analyzes the earliest forms of the ethnonym, its pronunciation and spelling variants in different languages, as well as its semantic changes. The form “tu-jue” recorded in Chinese chronicles, “türk” found in Sogdian documents, and “türük” attested in Old Turkic runic inscriptions are compared to identify their common roots and distinctive features. The article evaluates scholarly hypotheses linking the ethnonym to such meanings as “power,” “strength,” “to create,” and “leader.” It also examines how the ethnonym changed according to regional and historical contexts.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2140"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2140_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
