abstract: The article analyzes the mechanisms underlying the formation of the hyperbolic component in the structure of phraseological meaning. Drawing on the views of linguists who have investigated this issue, the study examines the relationship between hyperbolization, imagery, expressiveness, and semantic transfer. The factors contributing to the emergence of the hyperbolic component are illustrated through specific examples.
