%X This article provides a theoretical and comparative analysis of the pedagogicalfoundations for developing educational competence in future teachers. Educationalcompetence is characterized as an integrated combination of motivational-axiological,cognitive, activity-communicative, and reflective components. Based on thesystematization of scholarly sources, the study identifies pedagogical directions fordeveloping educational competence and substantiates conclusions concerning theprofessional preparation of future teachers.
