The study demonstrates that these concepts are often used synonymously in the metalanguage of terminology studies, which may lead to methodological ambiguity in comparative research on specialized terminologies. The analysis identifies the nature of the designated object, the characteristics and structure of the descriptive unit, and its variability as the main criteria for distinguishing these concepts. As a result, working definitions of ophthalmological terminology and ophthalmological terminological vocabulary are proposed.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2254"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2254_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
