The study identifies four major lexicographic functions of these academies—standardization, the creation of specialized terminology, unification, and the revision of the linguistic heritage—and illustrates them through specific models. It also discusses the integration of foreign borrowings into modern Arabic linguistics, the prevalence of terminological doublets, and the complexity of bilingual lexicography. The article systematizes the problems of inefficiency faced by Arabic language academies and their underlying causes, while highlighting the role of institutions such as the Union of Arab Language Academies and the Arabization Coordination Bureau in establishing a unified terminological database.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2258"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2258_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
