This article provides a philosophical and sociological analysis of the historical evolution and theoretical foundations of the category of social solidarity. The study is grounded in the growing relevance of examining social solidarity in contemporary society amid intensifying globalization, informatization, and democratic transformations. It traces and analyzes the evolution of the concept of social solidarity from ancient Greek philosophy (Aristotle) and Eastern social thought (Abu Nasr al-Farabi, Alisher Navoi, Confucius) to nineteenth-century sociology (Auguste Comte, Émile Durkheim) and twentieth-century social theories (Talcott Parsons, Jürgen Habermas). Particular attention is given to Durkheim’s concepts of mechanical and organic solidarity, Parsons’ theory of the social system within functionalism, and Habermas’ theory of communicative action. The article also examines the views of Jadid intellectuals — Mahmudkhoja Behbudi, Abdurauf Fitrat, and Abdulla Avloni — on social solidarity and national revival. Uzbekistan’s experience is considered from the perspective of a model of social solidarity based on harmony among different religious communities and ethnic groups. The study systematically identifies the structural elements of social solidarity, including social cohesion, mutual trust, tolerance, civic responsibility, social justice, cooperation, spiritual unity, and ideological harmony. The author proposes a new definition of social solidarity, interpreting it not merely as external unity but as a complex socio-philosophical phenomenon that ensures the internal stability, spiritual integrity, and civic harmony of society.",
