The study analyzes scholarly approaches related to portfolio pedagogy, learner autonomy, self-regulated learning, reflective learning, and formative assessment. Based on these theoretical foundations, a structural-functional model consisting of goal-oriented, content-related, process-technological, reflective-assessment, and outcome-based components is proposed. The implementation of the model is organized through diagnostic-preparatory, goal-individualization, activity-portfolio, reflection-assessment, and corrective-prognostic stages. Motivational-regulatory, cognitive-operational, reflective-assessment, and prognostic-autonomous criteria are identified for evaluating the development of students’ learning and cognitive activity. The proposed model is intended to facilitate students’ gradual transition from externally regulated learning to autonomous, reflective, and self-regulated learning activity. date: 2026-01-01 date_type: published id_number: OJS:2509 full_text_status: none publication: Scientific and innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere volume: 3 number: 9 refereed: 1 issn: 3060-5059 citation: Sanoyeva, Gulbar (2026) A METHODOLOGICAL MODEL FOR DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LEARNING AND COGNITIVE ACTIVITY THROUGH A LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO AND MECHANISMS FOR ITS PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION.
