      "abstract": "This article analyzes the quality of learning tasks and the importance of questionsin teaching Uzbek as both a native and a state language. It emphasizes that moderneducation requires the development of twenty-first-century skills and, therefore, learningtasks and questions should be carefully designed and aligned with assessment criteria.Particular attention is given to phonetics instruction, highlighting the role of questions inincreasing learners\u2019 speech activity, assessing their knowledge and skills, and developingindependent thinking. Questions are classified into information-seeking, checking,analytical, and creative types, with their purposes illustrated through examples. Thearticle also provides a scientific and methodological examination of the distinctionbetween questions and tasks, the psychological aspects of teachers\u2019 questions, methods ofteaching students how to formulate questions, the Socratic method, and the effectivenessof question-based instruction. The central role of questions in the educational process andthe need to orient linguistic tasks toward the development of language skills areemphasized. In addition, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and theirassessment are discussed, and recommendations for improving learning tasks areprovided.",
