It examines measures introduced after the establishment of the region to register land, impose taxation, and establish administrative control, as well as the impact of the 1886 Regulation on the Administration of the Turkestan Region on land relations and the adaptation of the traditional water-use system to the interests of the colonial administration. Land and water policy is assessed as a process closely interconnected with the expansion of cotton cultivation, the integration of the domestic market into the needs of imperial industry, and the strengthening of control over the local economy. date: 2026-01-01 date_type: published id_number: OJS:2575 full_text_status: none publication: Scientific and innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere volume: 3 number: 9 pagerange: 232-235 refereed: 1 issn: 3060-5059 citation: Xalimov, Axrorjon (2026) THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE’S POLICY ON LAND AND WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN THE FERGANA REGION (1876–1917).
