The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that, amid the rapid expansion of higher education and the transition toward expressing educational outcomes in terms of competencies, communicative competence is often developed spontaneously as a kind of “by-product.” The aim of the study is to reveal the scientific essence of the concept and its structural components. Comparative-pedagogical and systemic-structural analysis methods were employed. As a result, a five-component model of future teachers’ communicative competence was substantiated, comprising motivational-value, cognitive-linguistic, operational-technological, interactive-social, and reflective-regulatory components. The model was linked to a criterion-based framework consisting of 5 criteria and 15 indicators. The findings can be applied in the practice of higher pedagogical education.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2412"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2412_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
