It then examines the major stages in the evolution of question-answering systems. The progression from early rule-based programs through neural network-based reading models to the modern Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture is analyzed. Alongside international experience, the article examines approaches developed for morphologically complex languages, with particular reference to Turkic languages and other languages with agglutinative structures. In addition, research in Uzbek computational linguistics is systematized and its potential as a foundation for developing question-answering systems is assessed.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2419"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2419_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
