It analyzes the activities of Russian Orientalists in identifying, collecting, translating, publishing, and introducing into scholarly circulation manuscripts, chronicles, diplomatic documents, and archival materials related to the history of the Central Asian khanates. Particular attention is paid to the source-study activities of N.I. Veselovsky, A.N. Samoylovich, V.V. Bartold, P.I. Lerch, P.I. Demezon, and other scholars. The article discusses the scholarly study of such historical works as Shajarayi Turk, Firdaws al-Iqbal, Shohidi Iqbal, and Tarikhi Shahrukhi. The process of studying and collecting the written heritage of the khanates is also analyzed in the context of the colonial policy of the Russian Empire and the practice of transferring cultural assets to central scholarly institutions.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2441"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2441_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
