"abstract": "This article analyses the current use of the 5E instructional model in primary education, its integration into textbook content, and its instructional potential. It explains the nature of the model and the interrelationship among its five phases: engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. The article examines how textbook materials and learning tasks align with these phases and considers their potential to develop pupils\u2019 independent thinking, inquiry skills, and interest in learning. Particular attention is paid to the pedagogical significance of structuring lessons coherently around the 5E model and supporting pupils\u2019 active participation in the learning process.",
