N2  - This article analyzes the preservation, restoration, and use of the historical and cultural heritage of the Bukhara Region based on materials published in the Buxoro Haqiqati newspaper. The primary source base consists of newspaper articles concerning historical monuments, pilgrimage sites, restoration activities, the urban ecological environment, public oversight, and cultural heritage management. These sources contain important information on the number of architectural, archaeological, and monumental art sites under state protection in Bukhara, the monitoring of their technical condition, the allocation of funds for restoration, the cultural, educational, and economic use of individual monuments, and the factors causing damage to heritage sites. The article demonstrates that the preservation of historical monuments is not limited to restoration alone but is closely connected with urban planning, ecological balance, water and drainage systems, the quality of construction materials, institutional management, and public participation. Using the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, the Khoja Za?faron pilgrimage site, the Tosh-Saroy Madrasa, Volidai Abdullaziz, the Ark, and other monuments as examples, the study reveals the informational potential of periodical press materials for investigating historical processes. The findings demonstrate that materials from Buxoro Haqiqati constitute an important historical source for studying the practical state of cultural heritage preservation, existing problems, and public demands for their resolution during the last quarter of the twentieth century.
