Drawing on television programs, news reports, and interview texts in English and Uzbek, the study examines the formation of contextual meaning through polysemy, the emotional and expressive functions of stylistic devices such as metaphor and bathos, the selection of cohesive devices, violations of the cooperative maxims, and mechanisms of turn-taking management. The analysis identifies both shared and culturally specific features of media discourse in English and Uzbek. date: 2026-01-01 date_type: published id_number: OJS:2669 full_text_status: none publication: Scientific and innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere volume: 3 number: 9 pagerange: 417-420 refereed: 1 issn: 3060-5059 citation: Rajabbayeva, Feruza (2026) LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE FEATURES OF CONTEMPORARY MEDIA DISCOURSE.
