TY - JOUR SP - 75 A1 - Bobojonova, Shahnoza EP - 79 SN - 3060-5059 N2 - The article analyzes the cognitive factors of Uzbek and English educational discourse from three perspectives: register features, conceptual metaphor, and the lesson frame. Drawing on material from both languages, the study examines the combination of academic and conversational registers within a single teacher's utterance, as well as stylistic inconsistencies between textbook instructions and instructional texts. The linguistic devices filling the opening, address, and assessment slots of the lesson frame are compared. The findings indicate that components of social distance, respect, and linguistic mitigation are more prominently expressed in Uzbek educational discourse.
