LEWIS’S FANTASY creator: Muzaffarov, Javlon description: This article examines the interrelationship between myth and fairy-tale poetics in C.S. Lewis’s fantasy fiction, using The Chronicles of Narnia series as a case study. Through mythopoetic analysis, the study explores mythological images, archetypes, fairy-tale motifs, metamorphosis, the heroic journey, passage into another world, death and rebirth, creation, and eschatological models represented in the works. Drawing on specific episodes from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Magician’s Nephew, and The Last Battle, the article reveals the principles through which Lewis integrates classical, folkloric, and Christian mythological elements with narrative mechanisms characteristic of fairy tales. The findings demonstrate that fairy-tale poetics serves as the structural foundation organizing the progression of events and the trials faced by the protagonists, while myth provides these structures with archetypal, religious, and philosophical depth. Consequently, The Chronicles of Narnia is interpreted as a coherent authorial mythopoetic system that resemanticizes various mythological traditions. date: 2026-01-01 type: Article type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: https://arxiv.publishscience.uz/2524/1/fulltext.pdf identifier: Muzaffarov, Javlon (2026) THE INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MYTH AND FAIRY-TALE POETICS IN C.S.
