Based on data from Google Books Ngram Viewer, the relative frequencies of the expressions climate change, global warming, carbon footprint, artificial intelligence, and machine learning were examined over the period 1960–2022, while their Uzbek equivalents were analyzed using regulatory legal documents and mass media texts. As a result, a five-stage model of collocation formation is proposed, comprising emergence, dissemination, stabilization, institutionalization, and increased derivative formation activity. The findings indicate that these stages are reflected in English through increasing frequencies of usage, whereas in Uzbek they are manifested through calquing, graphic representation, and consolidation in legal documents. date: 2026-01-01 type: Article type: NonPeerReviewed format: application/pdf language: en identifier: https://arxiv.publishscience.uz/2525/1/fulltext.pdf identifier: Nurullayeva, Diyora (2026) STAGES OF COLLOCATION FORMATION IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK SCIENTIFIC-PUBLICISTIC TEXTS.
