Particular attention is paid to the idiomatic meanings, semantic transparency, contextual adaptation, canonical and transformed forms of phraseological units, as well as their communicative functions in discourse. Using corpus-based semantic-pragmatic analysis, the study examines the use of English phraseological expressions such as break the ice, hit the nail on the head, a double-edged sword, the tip of the iceberg, think outside the box, and read between the lines by generative artificial intelligence in various communicative contexts. The findings indicate that phraseological units in generative AI discourse perform pragmatic functions such as evaluation, strengthening argumentation, issuing warnings, providing motivation, mitigating criticism, and guiding interpretation. Furthermore, the creative transformation of certain phraseological expressions is shown to reflect their dynamic nature in generative discourse. The results provide a theoretical and practical foundation for a comprehensive examination of the semantic and pragmatic dimensions of phraseological units in generative artificial intelligence discourse. date: 2026-01-01 date_type: published id_number: OJS:2703 full_text_status: public publication: Scientific and innovative research in the social and humanitarian sphere volume: 3 number: 10 pagerange: 55-59 refereed: 1 issn: 3060-5059 citation: Suyunov, Lochin (2026) SEMANTIC AND PRAGMATIC REALIZATION OF ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DISCOURSE.
