It compares the syntactic independence of parenthetical constructions, their semantic relationship with the main clause, structural models, positional possibilities, and communicative-pragmatic functions. The study examines the functional similarities and terminological differences between the English concepts of parenthetical constructions, comment clauses, and supplementary constructions and the corresponding parenthetical constructions in Uzbek. Functions such as explanation, clarification, evaluation, provision of additional information, and indication of information sources are illustrated through comparative examples developed by the author. The analysis demonstrates that semantic similarities between parenthetical constructions do not necessarily imply complete correspondence in their grammatical forms. The study substantiates the need to apply multiple criteria simultaneously to distinguish parenthetical constructions from introductory units and detached sentence elements.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2569"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2569_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
