"abstract": "The article examines the development of a system for assessing students\u2019 literary competence in higher education institutions within a digital learning environment. Literary competence is conceptualized as a four-component structure, with assessment criteria, indicators, and a four-level rating scale proposed for each component. The study also analyzes the role of electronic testing platforms, digital portfolios, online forums, learning management systems (LMS), analytical rubrics, and artificial intelligence-based feedback tools in the assessment process. As a result, an integrative assessment model combining diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment stages is substantiated.",
