It examines how animal names acquire stable connotative meanings that reflect the nationally specific worldviews of speakers of two unrelated languages. Based on phraseological dictionaries, the study identifies zoonyms with fully corresponding, partially corresponding, and culturally specific symbolic meanings. It is established that the differences arise from variations in traditional economic and everyday practices, religious and mythological beliefs, and evaluative stereotypes. The findings can be applied to teaching Russian and Uzbek as foreign languages, as well as to translation practice.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mods:mods>
