It argues that directly comparing syntactic phenomena in structurally different languages on the basis of formal correspondence creates the risk of applying the grammatical model of one language as a criterion for analyzing another. Therefore, the basis of comparison — tertium comparationis — is conceptualized as the integration of propositional-semantic, structural-integrative, and communicative-functional levels. A two-stage filtering procedure consisting of formal searching and semantic-syntactic verification is proposed for identifying polypredicative constructions. For their description, a multi-criteria coding system is introduced, incorporating finiteness, subject relations, tense-modality independence, the scope of negation, syntactic linkage, degree of integration, semantic relations, and information status. The functions of comparable original-language corpora, parallel materials, and annotated resources such as Universal Dependencies are distinguished. The study demonstrates that manual verification of corpus data, the maintenance of genre and chronological balance, and the integration of quantitative findings with linguistic interpretation are essential for a reliable comparative analysis of polypredicative syntax.</mods:abstract><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8601">2026-01-01</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Article</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_2642"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_2642_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
